These turkey sliders are a delicious way to use lean meat like sliced turkey or leftover Thanksgiving turkey, layered with sharp white cheddar, thin apple slices, and tangy Dijon. These turkey sliders can be made with any type of roll — from bakery-style sandwich rolls to soft Hawaiian sweet rolls— so you can customize them to your liking. This easy recipe comes together in minutes and delivers the ideal mix of savory, sweet, and melty comfort.
4large rolls or double the amount for small rolls (homemade rolls, bakery rolls, Hawaiian sweet rolls, slider buns, etc.)
2-3tablespoonsdijon mustard (can adjust to preference)
1poundsliced turkey (fresh-cut Boar’s Head meat is our favorite) or leftover turkey
4sliceswhite cheddar cheese
1large apple, thinly sliced (we like pink lady or honey crisp)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
Slice the rolls in half horizontally (if they aren’t already). Place both the top and bottom halves cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet.
Spread a generous layer of Dijon mustard on the bottom halves of the rolls. Layer the sliced turkey and a slice of white cheddar on top of the mustard. Leave the top halves plain for now — toasting them at the same time helps them get lightly golden without sealing the sandwiches shut.
Bake for 5–6 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and both sides of the rolls are toasted and golden brown.
Remove from the oven, add a few thin slices of apple to each sandwich, and close with the top halves of the rolls. Serve warm.
Notes
Save time/prep ahead:
Assemble the turkey and cheese sliders up to a day in advance—just cover tightly with aluminum foil or store in an airtight container in the fridge until ready to bake.
For best results, bake just before serving so the turkey cheese sliders stay melty and fresh.
You can easily double the batch on a baking sheet to feed a hungry crowd.
These sandwiches can be made gluten free with the use of a gluten free roll. They are not dairy free, vegan, or vegetarian.
