These Greek chicken meatballs are delicious and versatile. They come together quickly for a great protein option at dinner. We like to serve the meatballs in bowls with our favorite Greek style additions.
Our favorite way to serve the meatballs is in bowls! Ideas for what you can add to the bowls:
Rice, quinoa, or orzo
Lettuce or greens mix
Fresh vegetables like grape tomato, cucumber, red onion
Hummus, tzatziki sauce, or Greek dressing
Pita chips
Feta cheese
Kalamata olives
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, add the ground chicken, red onion, breadcrumbs or almond flour, egg, minced garlic, dill, oregano, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Mix until well combined.
Use a cookie scoop or spoon to form the meat mixture into small balls and place them on a parchment lined baking sheet.
Cook the meatballs using one of the following options:If using an air fryer: set the temperature to 390 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the meatballs in a single layer in the air fryer basket (you may need to cook in two batches depending on the size of the air fryer). Cook for 8-10 minutes, turning the meatballs halfway, or until each meatball reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit. If baking: bake the meatballs on the baking sheet at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 12-15 minutes, or until each meatball reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit. If cooking on a skillet: place a large skillet on the stove over medium heat. Once it’s hot, add a little bit of oil to the pan. Next, add the meatballs in a single layer, preventing them from touching. You may need to cook them in two batches depending on the size of your skillet. Let the meatballs cook for 4-5 minutes each side, or until they reach 165 degrees and are cooked through completely.
We like to serve the meatballs in bowls with any toppings or additions of your choice! Make them your own. Our ideas/suggestions for adding to the bowls are listed above in the ingredients.
