Ingredient Notes
- For the "Greek yogurt" dough: you'll need flour, baking powder, salt, and plain Greek yogurt. The basic all-purpose flour will work great for this recipe. For the Greek yogurt, ensure you pick a plain Greek yogurt. We used the Chobani brand.
- For the pizza roll fillings: you'll need mozzarella cheese, marinara sauce, and turkey pepperoni. Feel free to use your favorite sauce. Rao's brand is a great option but many different brands will work great. At the grocery store, we found the turkey pepperoni in the refrigerated section near the deli meat. You can also substitute the turkey pepperoni for normal pepperoni. We recommend the Turkey pepperoni here because it seems to be a little less greasy than the standard pepperoni.

Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium-sized bowl. Add the greek yogurt and stir. Once the greek yogurt is mostly mixed in, we prefer to use our hands and knead the dough. Knead the dough for 2-3 minutes, until the dough is smooth and has no clumps of flour. If the dough is especially sticky, add a tablespoon of flour at a time until the dough is not too sticky and easy to handle.
Next you'll begin forming the pizza rolls. Add a thin layer of flour to the surface you will roll the dough out on as well as the rolling pin to prevent sticking. Roll the dough out into a layer in the shape of a rectangle. Be careful not to roll the dough too thin or else the toppings can tear through the dough.
Next, use a spoon to spread the marinara sauce over the top of the dough. Be sure to leave a small gap on the edges of the dough. Next layer the cheese on and finally the turkey pepperoni.
Begin rolling up the pizza rolls by starting on the long end of the rectangle and folding the dough over itself into a roll. You want the roll to be tight so that the toppings don't fall out but not so tight that it causes the dough to rip. Press the dough at the end of the roll to close the rolls so they don't pop open in the air fryer. Cut the roll into 12 equal pieces with a sharp knife.
Next, line your air fryer basket with parchment paper and spray with olive oil or avocado oil cooking spray liberally to prevent sticking. Carefully place each roll in a single layer in the air fryer with space between each of them. Sprinkle the tops with Italian seasoning if desired. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to do two separate batches.
Cook at 320 degrees F for 10-14 minutes, or until the tops of the rolls are browned and the rolls are cooked all the way through. If you don't have an air fryer, you can bake them on a cookie sheet or in a muffin pan at 350 degrees until brown on top and fully cooked through.
Tips & Variations
- If the Greek yogurt dough is sticky, simply add an extra tablespoon of flour at a time until you can easily handle the dough and roll it out. Be sure to flour the counter, your hands, and the rolling pin throughout the process to prevent sticking. You can also roll the dough out on floured parchment paper.
- Feel free to swap the marinara for a pesto or an alfredo sauce. You can also use normal pepperoni instead of turkey, however we recommend the turkey pepperoni because we like that it is less greasy. If you're looking to add your other favorite pizza toppings, be aware that you don't want to stuff the rolls too full or else they will be difficult to keep intact.
- If the thought of making your own dough seems overwhelming, simply use any store-bought pizza dough or your favorite homemade pizza dough recipe.
- Feel free to sprinkle the tops of the uncooked pizza rolls with parmesan cheese, garlic powder, or Italian seasoning.
- Dip the pizza rolls in more marinara sauce, ranch dressing, or other favorite dipping sauce.
- If you don't have cooking spray, you can also use standard olive oil and a pastry brush*.
- Save the extra pizza sauce by storing it in the freezer in an air-tight container
FAQ
Store any leftovers in an airtight container. We recommend popping them back in the air fryer on 320 for 1-2 minutes or until the roll is warmed through.
We have not personally tried a gluten-free or dairy-free version of this recipe and cannot guarantee the results.
Sure, just leave out the pepperoni!
If you freeze these, we recommend freezing them after you have cooked them in the air fryer. Remove the frozen pizza rolls from the freezer and let them thaw slightly or pop them in the microwave for a few seconds. Then reheat them in the air fryer until crispy and warmed through.

Homemade Air Fryer Pizza Rolls
Ingredients
For the Greek yogurt dough:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour + additional if needed to prevent sticking
- 1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
For the pizza rolls:
- ¾ cup mozzarella cheese
- ¾ cup marinara sauce
- 3 oz turkey pepperoni
Instructions
- Begin by creating the pizza dough. (Making the pizza dough does require a little extra effort, so feel free to use any pre-made pizza dough if you're wanting to save time.) Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium-sized bowl. Add the greek yogurt and stir. Once the greek yogurt is mostly mixed in, we prefer to use our hands to knead the dough. Knead the dough for 2-3 minutes, until the dough is smooth and has no clumps of flour. If the dough is especially sticky, add a tablespoon of flour at a time until the dough is not too sticky and easy to handle.
- Next you'll begin forming the pizza rolls. Add a thin layer of flour to the surface you will roll the dough out on as well as the rolling pin to prevent sticking. Roll the dough out into a thin layer (but not so thin that the dough will tear when you try to roll them) in the shape of a rectangle.
- Next, use a spoon to spread the marinara sauce over the top of the dough. Be sure to leave a small gap on the edges of the dough. Next layer the cheese, then the turkey pepperoni slices.
- Begin rolling up the pizza rolls by starting on the long end of the rectangle and folding the dough over itself into a roll. You want the roll to be tight so that the toppings don't fall out but not so tight that it causes the dough to rip. Press the dough at the end of the roll to close the rolls so they don't pop open in the air fryer. Cut the roll into 12 equal pieces with a serrated and sharp bread knife.
- Next, cut a piece of parchment paper to fit your air fryer basket. Line the basket with the parchment paper and spray it with olive or avocado oil spray to prevent sticking. Carefully place each roll in the air fryer with space between each of them. Spray the tops of the rolls lightly with olive or avocado oil spray. Sprinkle the tops with Italian seasoning if desired. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to do two separate batches.
- Cook in the air fryer at 320 degrees F for 10-14 minutes, or until the tops of the rolls are browned and the rolls are cooked all the way through. The cook time may vary based on the thickness of the dough. Ensure you cook them long enough to allow the inside to fully cook through.
- If you don't have an air fryer, you can bake them on a cookie sheet or in a muffin pan at 350 degrees F until brown on top and fully cooked through.
Notes
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container. For reheating, we recommend popping them back in the air fryer on 320 for 1-2 minutes or until the roll is warmed through.
- Make it vegetarian: simply leave out the pepperoni!
