Ingredient Notes
- Fresh multigrain or whole grain bread or sourdough - while you can use regular sandwich bread for this sandwich, we recommend using a fresh multigrain, whole grain, or sourdough bread. If you have a local bakery or farmer's market that sells fresh bread, that would be a great option. If you are looking for a similar option at the grocery store, choose something from the bakery section. A ciabatta roll would also be great. We recommend to toast the bread before assembling the sandwich to prevent it from getting soggy.
- Roasted turkey breast - we love going to the deli counter at the grocery store to select freshly sliced turkey. We recommend asking for it to be thinly sliced or shaved. You can also choose a pre-sliced turkey from the refrigerated section. Boars Head is our favorite brand.
- Bacon - crispy bacon is a must when it comes to a BLT! We love to cook our bacon in the air fryer to help it get extra crispy, but you can cook it in the oven, on the stove, or in the microwave depending on your preference.
- Avocado - avocado is a great addition to BLT sandwiches. We recommend to smash the avocado onto one slice of bread or cut into very thin slices.
- Romaine lettuce - you will just need a few leaves of lettuce to add to your BLT. We love the crispness and crunchiness the lettuce adds!
- Tomato slices - you can choose your favorite tomatoes for these sandwiches. If you have a vegetable garden with tomatoes, this would be a great way to use them! We recommend to slice them thinly to help prevent everything from sliding out of the sandwich.
- Red onion - you will just need a few slices of thinly sliced red onion. We recommend slicing them thinly for the same reason as mentioned above, but to also help prevent the red onion flavor from being too overpowering.
- Salt and pepper - just a sprinkle of salt and pepper ties it all together!
- Sriracha aioli - we know making this Sriracha aioli is an extra step, but we promise it comes together quickly and makes a world of difference for this sandwich! You will need mayonnaise (feel free to choose real mayonnaise, light mayonnaise, or mayonnaise made with olive oil or avocado oil—any of these options will be great!), Sriracha, minced garlic, and lime juice. Chosen Foods has an avocado mayo we like. If you’re not a fan of mayo, add a squeeze of fresh lime juice, a dash of sriracha, and salt to the mashed avocado mixture.

Tips & Variations
- A full sandwich is always going to be messy, but we do have a few tips to help make it a little bit easier to prepare and eat! First, toast the bread to prevent it from becoming soggy when adding the Sriracha aioli and tomatoes. Second, we recommend smashing the avocado on one side of the sandwich. Thin slices of avocado will work as well, but they are more likely to slip out when taking a bite. Lastly, we recommend cutting the tomato and red onion into thin slices to help them not slide around as much when taking a bite.
- If you aren't a big fan of mayo, know that the Sriracha, garlic, and lime juice help it to not taste too much like mayo. However, if you're still hesitant consider using an avocado oil or olive oil mayo such as this Chosen Foods mayo or simply add a fresh squeeze of lime and a dash of sriracha or salt to your mashed avocado.
