If you aren't a huge fan of Brussels sprouts normally, these Sriracha Honey Brussels Sprouts might change your mind! They are the perfect easy side dish. The combination of honey, a little olive oil, and Sriracha creates the perfect amount of heat. This is our new favorite way to eat our veggies!
What ingredients do you need?
Brussels Sprouts
We prefer to buy the pre-washed and bagged Brussels sprouts to save time. If you purchase Brussels sprouts that are not pre-washed, ensure that you dry them really well before beginning. If Brussels sprouts aren't your thing, you can swap for other favorite vegetables. Green beans, broccoli, and zucchini would all be a good option but note that you'll have to adjust the cooking time.
Olive Oil, Honey, Soy Sauce, Sriracha, Salt, Minced Garlic
These are all components of the honey Sriracha sauce. In order to get the Brussels sprouts crispy, olive oil is essential! Feel free to swap it with avocado oil. You can use more or less Sriracha to adjust the spice level. If you're cooking for young kids, simply omit it! The sweetness of the honey helps to combat the heat. For an even spicier option, you can use hot honey instead of regular honey.
What equipment do you need?
For this recipe, you'll need the following equipment:
- Baking sheet
- Parchment paper (optional for easy clean up)
- Measuring spoons
- Knife and cutting board
- Large bowl
How do I make these Brussels sprouts?
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy clean-up if desired. If you’re using Brussels sprouts that need to be washed, ensure they are completely dry before beginning. We typically purchase pre-washed ones to avoid this.
- Begin by cutting your Brussels sprouts in half. Add them to a medium bowl. Add the olive oil, soy sauce, honey, sriracha, salt, and minced garlic. Mix until all of the Brussels sprouts are evenly coated.
- Add the Brussels sprouts to the prepared baking sheet and arrange them so the cut side is facing down. Place the baking sheet in the oven and cook for 20-23 minutes, or until the Brussels sprouts are tender, golden brown, and crispy.
Anything else to consider?
Store the Brussels sprouts in an airtight container for up to 3 days. We like to reheat them for a minute in the air fryer to bring back some of the crispness.
Is it (GF/DF/V/VEG)?
This recipe is gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian. For gluten-free, ensure you use a gluten-free soy sauce or coconut aminos. For a vegan option, substitute the honey for pure maple syrup. As always, ensure each individual ingredient meets your dietary needs.
